TRUE Linkswear All Day Knit 3 Shoe Review

The all new TRUE Linkswear All Day Knit 3 shoes are the perfect combination of comfort, style, and durability on and off the golf course. Read our review here.

As a huge fan of TRUE Linkswear for years, it’s always a privilege to review a new product from the brand. The new TRUE Linkswear All Day Knit 3 shoes are the perfect combination of style, comfort and versatility for on- and off-course wear.

Like their name implies, the All Day Knit 3 is designed to be worn throughout the day in any setting, especially during your round of golf. Let’s take a closer look at what will be a crowd favorite in 2023.

TRUE Linkswear All Day Knit 3.

TRUE Linkswear All Day Knit 3 Design

TRUE Linkswear have perfected the knit sneaker design over the years, featuring variants in their catalogue to match your preferences in shoe design. The All Day Knit 3 is the third generation of the brand’s best-selling offering and features upgraded elements all geared toward comfort, stability and durability.

The new All Day V2 outsole offers extra deep grip for long term durability. Inspired by mountaineering tread, the directional grip is optimized for stability on uneven terrain - on or off the course.

In true minimalist style (pun intended?), these shoes have a one-piece sock design that wraps around your foot with no extra panels, stitching, or excessive materials. This promotes an overall lightweight final product that forms to your feet, making the shoes individually tailored to you over repeated wear.

TRUE Linkswear suggests the All Day Knit 3’s are engineered for comfort every time they are worn. How do they stack up?

Feel and Comfort

The All Day Knit 3 is the perfect athleisure shoe for more than just golf. It’s rare to find shoes of this caliber that fit well right out of the box and feel like they’ve been “broken in” for months. I was incredibly impressed with this quality in the All Day Knit 3’s, instantly making them my go-to footwear for most occasions.

Over the years I have found TRUE Linkswear shoes to be insanely durable despite their minimalist and lightweight designs. The All Day Knit 3’s are no exception to this, featuring high quality materials that will withstand multiple wears on any surface you encounter.

Arch support and shoe width was perfect, allowing for maximum comfort on long walks. This makes sense, of course, since TRUE encourages you to #EnjoyTheWalk. The All Day Knit 3’s are the perfect companion for any walk on any terrain while also being damn good golf shoes.

When worn on the golf course, the All Day Knit 3’s outsole and subtle “softspikes” — which are more nubs than anything — provided the perfect mixture of traction and control during a golf swing. While these shoes are not waterproof, they do provide adequate protection from the elements in comparison to other knit shoes.

Overall Impression

While I will most likely wear them as casual shoes, the TRUE Linkswear All Day Knit 3’s performed well on and off the golf course. They are very lightweight and extremely comfortable, molding to your feet after just a few wears. You will be hard pressed to find a more comfortable shoe that can be worn anywhere.

If you are most interested in a golf shoe with waterproof protection, you likely won’t find it here. After all, these are knit shoes and are designed to keep your feet cool as opposed to dry in very wet conditions.

I’ve been a longtime fan of TRUE Linkswear and will continue to be for a very long time. The All Day Knit 3’s are some of the best shoes they’ve ever designed, which is saying something for a brand that continues to exceed expectations every year.

TRUE Linkswear Major Golf Shoes Review

The TRUE Linkswear Major golf shoes are Tour-quality and perhaps the most comfortable shoes they’ve ever designed.

TRUE Major golf shoes.

TRUE Major golf shoes.

The concept of what to expect in a golf shoe has changed dramatically over the years. No longer are we bound to the confines of saddle designs and raised spikes; comfort is a must, and brands have agree it is of upmost importance.

TRUE Linkswear has specialized in comfort for years, and their new TRUE Major golf shoes might be the finest they’ve ever produced.

Background and Technology

Is it weird to say there’s a technology aspect of a golf shoe design? We’re not talking computer chips and flashing lights, of course. However, the TRUE Majors are built in such a way that one cannot help but think “state of the art.”

Billed as their “highest performing, Tour issue model”, the TRUE Majors are strong enough to withstand any weather condition or terrain. Waterproof full grain leather and outdoor grade Nubuck suede comprise their outer layer while a lightweight midsole and comfort sock inner protect your feet from pain and discomfort. Flexibility is a focus in the TRUE Majors, making them seem as if they were built specifically for your foot right out of the box.

The unique Paracord Lacing system holds each shoe onto your feet snugly yet comfortably, providing stability throughout your swing. I hate a shoe that has sporadic “tightness” throughout the tongue due to inconsistent placement of the laces. The TRUE Majors’ lacing system avoids this problem entirely.

Feel and Performance

When you put on a new pair of TRUE Linkswear shoes, you expect them to be comfortable immediately. It’s simply the thing they are known for, and the TRUE Majors follow suit wonderfully.

I’ve always loved how close to the ground the soles of my feet feel when walking in a pair of TRUEs. I prefer to feel the change in terrain throughout my round, especially in bunkers and on the putting green. I don’t want a thick shoe sole that hides the contours of a golf course, and while the TRUE Majors aren’t the thinnest shoes ever, they keep me in touch (literally) with my surroundings.

The traction on the bottom of the shoe — which is much closer to that of a sneaker as opposed to your typical golf softspike — was more than adequate without feeling like I was digging into the dirt. I’m interested to see how they will perform in wet conditions, since the rubber nubs are quite shallow compared to competing designs.

As someone who likes to walk every so often during a round, I have no doubt the TRUE Majors will keep my feet blister-free. However, the thicker leather and suede outer combo seems a bit warm, which may be concerning on warmer days.

Overall Impression

When it comes to buying a golf shoe, I believe you should dress for the conditions of the day. I simply do not think there is a one-size-fits-all approach to proper foot apparel for this game. You should not wear the same pair of golf shoes for all conditions; there are simply too many great options.

The TRUE Majors, while able to be worn in any condition, are best for cooler days or soggy rounds. They are great for golfers who prefer to both walk or ride, and their construction guarantees their longevity. This is a premium quality golf shoe that will last for many seasons.

The TRUE Linkswear Major golf shoes retail for $199.99.

TRUE Linkswear Elements Pro Review

The TRUE Linkswear Elements Pro golf shoes promise waterproof durability in a comfortable package. Did they deliver on that promise?

Elements-PRO-Black-Silver-TRUE-linkswear.png

Golf shoes might be the most important and most overlooked piece of equipment in your arsenal. The new TRUE Linkswear Elements Pro golf shoes seek to offer comfort and playability in a waterproof and breathable package. Unfortunately, these shoes only make good on half of that effort.

From TRUE Linkswear:

Elements feature our new Breathable + Waterproof 360* booty construction on a double layered mesh upper. The sporty and casual upper is placed on top of our P-Motion™ midsole - providing the ultimate in shock absorption, energy transfer for more power during your swing, and long term comfort. For traction, each ultra-thin TPU outsole is re-infoced with seven of Softspikes® latest Pulsar cleats featuring the latest 'Fast Twist® 3.0' cleat receptacle for a thinner, more secure fit.

Appearance & Build

It's not easy to review golf shoes.

Most people will immediately have a preference on athletic footwear brand that will bias their buying decision. I know people that won't even try on a pair of shoes from specific brands. Looks are a big deal when it comes to footwear, however, and this is where the TRUE Linkswear Elements Pro shoes excel.

I really like the look and build of these golf shoes. While a little on the heavy side, TRUE Linkswear makes a great product in terms of build quality. The Elements Pro shoes are non-traditional and will not appeal to everyone, but I find them to be very attractive and tastefully done.

Feel & Performance

This is where the Elements Pro shoes lost it for me.

I played 18 holes wearing the shoes and am still feeling their effects, but not in a good way. The fit was a bit snug at first, but over time the "newness" of the shoes tapered off as they formed to my feet nicely. However, around hole 15, my feet started to really ache.

Don't get me wrong: the shoes kept my feet dry on a wet golf course and sweating was a non-factor. But for whatever reason the soles of my feet simply did not agree with the TRUE Elements Pro shoes.

I prefer lower profile shoes -- a style which TRUE Linkswear also offers, to be fair -- however the TRUE Elements Pro has a thicker sole with traditional soft spikes. This takes getting used to if you are making the switch to this style of shoe. Admittedly, I should have went to the driving range to get used to swinging in these shoes before hitting the course. That's my fault.

The new Elements line from @truelinkswear. Review coming soon. #golf

A post shared by Golf Unfiltered (@golfunfiltered) on

Overall Impression

The TRUE Linkswear Elements Pro golf shoes delivered on two promises: my feet stayed dry and cool throughout a hot, damp golf round. Comfort was compromised, it seemed, in favor of an extremely durable build that will help these shoes last a long time.

To be totally honest, I will probably not wear the TRUE Elements Pro shoes again anytime soon. However, if I need a for-sure waterproof golf shoe, I can rely on them to deliver.

REVIEW: True Linkswear True Motion and Game Changer Pro

The new True Motion and Game Changer Pro shoes by True Linkswear should be on your list of new products to buy in 2015. Here's our review.

IMAG0499-e1431482217516.jpg

True Linkswear has established itself as a leader in the golf shoe market thanks to their focus on unparalleled comfort. This trend continues with the new True Motion and Game Changer Pro golf shoe styles, both of which I tested over the last month.

True Linkswear True Motion

A photo posted by Adam (@adamjfonseca) on

The Motion was inspired by the popular TRUE street style models of the past, now with an improved leather upper, updated styling that's perfect for on and off course, more aggressive barefoot tread and improved comfort essentials.

As the company description suggests, the True Motion golf shoes look and feel like street shoes. The shoes' toes are slightly wider than what I prefer, but this is a common build feature seen in other True styles. Their feel and comfort are the biggest selling points for me as they closely mirror a well-fitting pair of casual shoes. The True Motion features a spikeless sole equipped with rubber nubs that adequately grip the turf while walking or swinging the club. I've always been amazed at the level of traction the True Linkswear shoes offer the player, and the True Motion is no exception.

True Linkswear Game Changer Pro

A photo posted by Adam (@adamjfonseca) on

Featuring P-Motion Technology, designers utilized an ultra-thin, lightweight proprietary rubber mesh compound created by a biomechanical engineer in the midsole of the Game Changer Pro to create the most flexible spiked shoe on the market. The combination of the rubber mesh and thin EVA foam, P-Motion delivers unprecedented TRUE Comfort and shock absorption allowing your foot to move naturally and breathe inside the shoe. By incorporating the replaceable Champ™ Zarma Tour™ soft spikes and the Slim-Lok™ system, designers were able to maintain a zero drop design with the spikes recessed into the sole.

The above description is a mouthful, but the premise is this: the Game Changer Pro is one of the first True models that feature "traditional" soft golf spikes. And they're amazing.

What I found most interesting about the Game Changer Pro was how much narrower its toes were compared to other True styles. The leather upper seemed to hug my foot more securely than what I've grown accustomed to with this brand. I'd go so far as to say the Game Changer Pro fit better than any other True style I've tried, and that's saying something.

Overall Impression

True Linkswear has hit a home run with both the True Motion and Game Changer Pro. Fans of the brand will find a familiar comfort in the True Motion and a refreshing new feel in the soft-spike-equipped Game Changer Pro. Either option could serve as your go-to golf shoe every time you play, making the choice between the two come down to personal preference. You cannot go wrong in either case.

The True Motion retails for $119.99 and the Game Changer Pro retails for $169.99. Both can be found on www.truelinkswear.com.

True Linkswear: The Best Golf Shoes You Can Buy

Every so often I'll post about a new golf product or service that has truly captured my attention, whether it be for its usefulness or its ability to improve my game. Since I've started walking more during my rounds as opposed to taking a golf cart, it became glaringly obvious that I needed a new pair of shoes for added comfort during my round. Luckily, the good folks over at True Linkswear have come out with a line of golf shoes that not only help in the comfort area, but also prove to be an extremely useful golf tool for players at any level. First and foremost, the True Linkswear line - specifically the PHX model I purchased last week - is quite possibly the most comfortable shoe - athletic or casual - that I have ever owned. The wide-toe design allows for more toe movement during normal gait, and the ultra-low sole profile brings you closer to the ground than you thought possible in a shoe. This latter feature is especially useful on the golf course, specifically while reading putts.

Ever play a round of golf in your bare feet? True Linkswear tries its hardest to emulate this feeling in their shoe line, and they have succeeded admirably. Placing the players' feet as close to the ground as possible helps the golfer to remain "connected" to their playing surface. While that may sound a little new aged for some, I guarantee that the feeling of playing golf with added feel in your feet is highly underrated. My old golf shoes featured a higher sole that increased my height by about a full inch, and I could tell no difference from the cart path or the green when playing. That uniformity may be preferred by some players, but I can tell you I have been converted since switching to True Linkswear.

This low-profile sole feature was especially useful on the putting green, as mentioned previously. Reading putts with your feet while walking around the green helped me notice every minute break or slope that I would have otherwise never noticed with my eyes alone. Take my word for it; feeling exactly how much a putt will break is much more effective than simply eyeballing the slope.

True Linkswear offers a wide range of different styles and colors from which to choose. I went with the TL PHX line, and the grey/charcoal/electric blue design because they really jumped out at me visually, and look a lot more like street shoes than the traditional golf shoe (something I dig). PGA Tour player Ryan Moore introduced the electric blue outsole design in 2011, so fans of True Linkswear went berserk when the wallet-friendly PHX line introduced the same design.

Retailing at around $99 and up, True Linkswear's shoe line is competitively priced and on-par (har har) with other shoe lines. However, you will be hard-pressed to find another shoe that is as comfortable or as useful on the course as any product offered by True Linkswear. I highly recommend these products.
