Fujikura Ventus Golf Shaft Review

The Fujikura Ventus is a top-tier golf shaft option for players of any caliber yet widely played on professional tours. Available in three launch profiles — low, medium, and high — the Ventus is one of the most sought-after shafts for fairway woods and drivers on the market.

I’ve been playing the Fujikura Ventus Blue in my 3-wood this season and loving every shot with it. Here’s why.

Fujikura Ventus Technology

When a golf shaft is priced at a premium rate ($350 MSRP), players are going to wonder why. The Fujikura Ventus is worth every penny of that price tag thanks to the immense technology and premium materials that comprise it’s build.

The Ventus is a shaft built specifically to maximize distance, accuracy and control in your woods and driver. Per the brand’s website, each shaft features a multi-material bias core construction that delivers ultimate stability through transition and impact (maximizing clubhead MOI) – increasing velocity and smash factor. The multi-material core is crafted with full-length, ultra-high modulus Pitch 70 Ton Carbon Fiber — 150% stronger and more stable than T1100g — for ultimate stability, and 40 Ton bias layers ensure incredible feel.

The star of this show, however, is Fujikura’s patented VeloCore Technology. This tech allows for maximum energy transfer from the tip section, boosting the clubhead’s performance while a straight taper design enhances loading and feel.

Performance and Feel

The Fujikura Ventus has a stout feel to the overall build. Using the Ventus Blue in my fairway wood was a choice guided by my previous shaft getting too “spinny,” leading to shots that ballooned into the air. The Ventus Blue’s mid-launch profile offers a perfect blend of control and just enough spin to get the ball off the ground while producing a penetrating ball flight to allow for maximum roll.

What I appreciate most about the Ventus is its sturdy feel throughout the swing. This is not a golf shaft that feels too “whippy” in the hands or tip-end of the club. Instead, the full length of the shaft maintains a consistent flex feel. No surprises here, which is the last thing you want to feel in a golf swing.

Spin rates dropped nicely compared to my previous gamer shaft, which could balloon to over 3500 RPM. I found the Ventus Blue to average around 2500 RPM for my swing, which is perfect for my game and yardage needs.

If there is anything to critique about the Ventus, it’s probably the price tag. Make no mistake: this is a premium golf shaft that can cost more than the majority of competing options. Still, the performance of the product speaks volumes, especially after being professionally fit to the proper shaft profile for your game.

Overall Impression

As mentioned, there is very little not to like about the Fujikura Ventus golf shaft. Its build and design is perfect for the player who needs slightly less spin without compromising feel and repeatable trajectory. I’d categorize this shaft in the “stiffer feel” realm regardless of what shaft flex you choose.

For players who want to seriously upgrade their game — and can afford to do so — the Fujikura Ventus golf shaft is a top-tier option that deserves your consideration.
